Training flats

A training flat is to give young care leavers a chance to experience independent living and the responsibilities that come with it.
For young people who are making the transition from foster or residential care,we offer a training flat. The young person can move into this flat for a short period of time, to gain an insight into what independent living is like. At the end of this set period, they will have a better insight into what to expect when they make the permanent move into independence.
Paragon will assess the young person’s, baseline support needs and create an Individual Support Plan to assist their development.
Paragon will work with the young person’s social worker/personal advisor to develop a clear and relevant pathway plan. Set clear boundaries about behaviour, to ensure that young people are kept safe.

Young person’s contributions.

Young people who stay in the flats are asked to pay a nominal weekly service charge that covers the use of utilities such as gas, water, TV licence etc. The electricity is on a meter and will need to be purchased through your stay.

How to Refer

Applications can be made by a social worker and the young person. Please email for an application form or telephone 07506 222514 for further details.
